I have created a new piece of marine debris artwork that will be on display at this year's Art of Nature show at the Santa Cruz Natural History Museum. It depicts a pair of humpback whales using ocean plastics and styrofoam that I collected in Half Moon Bay, CA and Puerto Vallerta, Mexico. Humpbacks frequent both of these locations to breed and feed over the course of the year and are particularly vulnerable to ingesting plastic pollution. The opening reception for the show is on Friday, April 6th, from 6–8 pm, and it runs until May 27th. Come meet the artists and see some wonderful environmental and scientific art!
